Georgia Walk to School Day 2021
Register now for gWalk 2021!
This year's Georgia Walk to School Day is Wednesday, March 10, 2021, but you can hold your event any day in March that works for your school and community. Register now!
In 2019, more than 150 schools participated in the event from across the state. And last year, despite COVID closing schools and businesses, we had schools and communities participate virtually. While social distancing continues, there are ways to participate while staying safe. Encourage walks in neighborhoods. Have students walk to school masked up and socially distanced. As more people embrace walking and bicycling for exercise and transportation during the pandemic, make sure to promote safety skills and behaviors.
Let’s make this year even better with more events and more kids walking and rolling! Active transportation is great for children's health, their ability to learn and focus, and the environment.

Event Background:
The Georgia SRTS Resource Center sponsors Georgia Walk to School Day each year, encouraging schools to host a walking and biking to school event in March. Wednesday, March 11, 2020, is the official gWalk date, but schools may choose any day in March that works for their community to host the event. While the events are commonly called, Georgia Walk to School Day, the spirit of the event encourages both walking and bicycling.
